The Problem We Solved
When homeowners attempt ineffective DIY solutions for serious pest infestations, they usually fail. Because the only real remedy is to call in the extermination experts at Terminix. This integrated campaign demonstrated the brand's unmatched proficiency in pest removal through a series of commercials enlisting comedian Rhys Darby.
To make this campaign memorable we paired words like "tex-mex" and "Pecs" with "Terminix" to demonstrate how their services can truly "nix" pest issues. The wacky, fruitless DIY attempts would rhyme with Terminix to drive home the point.
To really sell the humor and improvisational nature of the concepts, we cast comedian Rhys Darby of Flight of the Conchords fame as our quirky spokesperson. Our team provided the overall creative direction, but Rhys brought the ridiculous scenarios to life with his signature comedic flair. As part of the creative process, we filmed tons of improv takes to capture the perfect comedic moments.
The full campaign extended beyond TV spots to social media, digital content, and even in-store displays - all unified by the "Terminix It" theme. Based on the positive brand lift metrics, I'm proud to say our breakthrough creative work helped showcase Terminix as the definitive experts for tackling pest infestations once and for all. The collaborative creative process yielded stellar results that resonated with consumers.
