The Problem We Solved
Job searching was broken—an overwhelming flood of irrelevant postings that wasted people's time. Career Scout flips the script: instead of you searching for jobs, jobs find you based on what you actually want. How do you make that reversal feel like a cultural moment? We built a surreal, absurdist world where job search pain points became elaborate physical metaphors—people literally wearing resumes as costumes, wardrobes that shift from oversized to perfectly fitted, a cow walking into a cubicle. Every frame was crafted with obsessive production design: foam resume blocks that peel away like deli meat, forced perspective photography for 13-story hedges, all practical effects that feel tangible and lived-in. We treated it like prestige cinema—composed dolly reveals, heightened sound design, jump cuts through chaotic scenarios—but kept the performances deadpan. The work became a contagious celebration of killing off an entire category's broken experience, turning a tech feature launch into theatrical rebellion.
